Flu season is among us and has seemed to get the best of some. Here are some tips to keep you healthy this horrific flu season.
This may sound obvious to some but make sure you are washing your hands frequently. Also, carrying hand sanitizer with you is very helpful when there is no soap and water around. Do not rely on the sanitizer because it does not kill all germs, so make sure you are using soap and water whenever possible.
Do not share food or drinks with anyone. Whether they seem to be sick or not, many times people can have the virus but not show symptoms until later. Making sure that you are staying away from these nasty germs is the best thing you can do for yourself.
If you or anyone you know has or may have this virus be sure to stay home. That is the best way to make sure you are getting the rest you need to get better. It also keeps those who are healthy safe from this horrible flu.
If you feel the slightest discomfort go see a doctor to make sure you are getting treated sooner than later and keeping others out of harm’s way. If you have not got then flu shot this year, that may be a good thing to look in to. It takes about two weeks for you to become protected by the shot. There have been stories where people have gone to the doctor multiple times throughout this sickness to get checkups. If you do not feel like you are getting any better and in fact may be feeling worse than before, do not hesitate to go back to see your doctor. There may be other things they can give you to help combat the virus.
Not only should you be keeping hand sanitizer with you but also medicines like, Tylenol, Mucinex, Nyquil & Dayquil, or any sinus or cold medicine that you prefer. With that, you should always have a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated.
These are not the only things you can do to save yourself from this flu season but just a few tips to try and make your odds a little better.
